Skiing in Szczyrk – what attractions await in the 2022/2023 season?

Szczyrk, not without reason known as the winter capital of Poland, is an ideal place for fans of skiing. For avid skiers and snowboarders in the mountain resort, well-known and well-liked resorts await, offering kilometers of trails of varying levels. On the occasion of the inauguration of the 2022/2023 season, we have prepared a guide to the attractions of Szczyrk for skiers!

Beskid Sport Arena

December 15 is the opening date for one of the region’s most popular ski resorts. Beskid Sport Arena, which could not be missing among Szczyrk’s attractions for skiers and snowboarders, as every year prepares a mass of surprises for fans of madness on white powder. The last frosty and snowy days were the perfect opportunities to prepare the best possible routes for the start of the season. Among them, there is something for both experienced winter sports enthusiasts and those who are just taking their first steps on skis or a board.

In BSA, you can ski down as many as four well-adapted slopes (two easy, a difficult, and very difficult), with a total length of 3,200 meters. All are equipped with a modern LED lighting system. In addition, the capacity of the railroad and lifts, estimated at 4,000 per hour, ensures the comfort of the slopes. The resort also operates a ski and snowboard school and a kindergarten for the youngest fans of white powder, as well as an equipment rental and service center. You will also take advantage of catering services on-site. Skiing every day from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm.

Skrzyczne Central Sports Center

Skiers and snowboarders are also invited to plan an active holiday in the Beskydy Mountains at the Skrzyczne Central Sports Center. Four trails await Ondraszek (blue, 2460 m), Widokowa (blue, 2320 m), Kaskada (red, 3200 m), and FIS (black, 2800 m). The fun is provided by a modern cable car and a 4-person couch with a capacity of 2,400 people per hour, available along the entire stretch – from the lower station in Szczyrk, through Jaworzyna, all the way to the top of Skrzyczne. The center and cable car will be open daily from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.

Szczyrk Mountain Resort

The opening of the 2022/23 season at the famous Szczyrk Mountain Resort is scheduled for Saturday, December 17 – the inauguration will be accompanied by special events, including a party with regional delicacies and numerous competitions. One of the largest ski resorts in Poland is located on the slopes of the Małe Skrzyczne (1211 m) and Wierch Pośredni (1000 m) peaks. The resort offers 23 km of varied slopes (including 5 km of illuminated slopes), available from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Thanks to cooperation with the Central Sports Center and Beskid Sport Arena, users of the three Beskid resorts can use a common ski pass for slopes totaling more than 40 km. In addition, the center includes the Max Bear Academy, which conducts group ski lessons for children, as well as an equipment rental and service center.

White Cross

Also ready to welcome skiers and snowboarders is the White Cross Ski Complex, picturesquely located on the Salmopol Pass (commonly known as the White Cross). Trails available on-site will meet the expectations of both beginners and experienced skiers and snowboarders. Instructors are also available on-site, and riding equipment can be rented. The resort’s ski lift is open from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm (Monday-Friday) and from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm (Saturday-Sunday). The resort’s facilities include a ski school, a ski rental shop, and a catering base. Right next to the trails, there is a sledding area.
